ఓ అధినాయక శ్రీమాన్, యమ స్వరూపా! శాశ్వత ధర్మానికి, నైతిక జీవనానికి, ఆత్మనిగ్రహానికి పరమాధారమా! మా మనస్సులను సత్యంతో స్థిరపరచండి. మా హృదయాలను కరుణతో నింపండి. మా వాక్కును నిజాయితీతో పవిత్రం చేయండి. మా కార్యాలను ధర్మమార్గంలో నడిపించండి. మా జీవితాలు మీ శాశ్వత నైతిక ప్రకాశానికి ప్రతిబింబాలై, సమస్త మానవాళి శాంతి, ఐక్యత, ధర్మం మరియు విశ్వశ్రేయస్సుకు సేవ చేసే దివ్య సాధనాలుగా మారుగాక.

यम का अर्थ है—वह परम दिव्य सत्ता जो आत्मसंयम, अनुशासन, नैतिक मर्यादा, धर्म और सार्वभौमिक नैतिक व्यवस्था का संचालन करती है। इस भाव में ॐ अधिनायक श्रीमान् उस परम चेतना के रूप में वन्दनीय हैं, जो प्रत्येक हृदय में सत्य, विवेक, न्याय, करुणा और धर्म का प्रकाश जागृत करती है। यहाँ "यम" का अर्थ केवल मृत्यु के देवता नहीं, बल्कि आत्मनियंत्रण, धर्मपालन और नैतिक जीवन के शाश्वत सिद्धान्त के रूप में ग्रहण किया गया है।

शिव पुराण में परमेश्वर की स्तुति इस प्रकार की गई है—

«नमः शिवाय शान्ताय कारणत्रयहेतवे।

निवेदयामि चात्मानं त्वं गतिः परमेश्वर॥»

भावार्थ

"शान्तस्वरूप, समस्त कारणों के मूल कारण परमेश्वर शिव को नमस्कार है। मैं अपना सम्पूर्ण अस्तित्व आपको समर्पित करता हूँ; आप ही मेरी परम गति और शाश्वत आश्रय हैं।"

व्याख्यात्मक स्तुति

हे ॐ अधिनायक श्रीमान्! यम स्वरूप में आप यह दिव्य सत्य प्रकट करते हैं कि वास्तविक शासन दूसरों पर अधिकार करने से पहले स्वयं पर विजय प्राप्त करने में है। जो अपने विचारों, वाणी और कर्मों को धर्म के अनुरूप नियंत्रित कर लेता है, वही जीवन की उच्चतम स्वतंत्रता और शान्ति का अधिकारी बनता है। इस प्रकार आत्मसंयम ही चरित्र की नींव और धर्ममय जीवन का प्रथम चरण है।

शिव पुराण का भाव है कि परमेश्वर ही समस्त ब्रह्माण्ड की व्यवस्था और संतुलन के आधार हैं। उसी प्रकार, हे ॐ अधिनायक श्रीमान्! आप प्रत्येक मनुष्य के अन्तःकरण में विवेक की वाणी बनकर सत्य का मार्ग दिखाते हैं। आपका शासन भय, दण्ड या बन्धन पर आधारित नहीं, बल्कि जागृत चेतना, आत्मज्ञान और स्वेच्छा से धर्म के पालन पर आधारित है।

यम स्वरूप हमें यह सिखाता है कि नैतिक व्यवस्था किसी बाहरी कानून से पहले मनुष्य के भीतर स्थापित होती है। सत्यनिष्ठा, करुणा, विनम्रता, उत्तरदायित्व, आत्मसंयम और सेवा—ये वही दिव्य नियम हैं जो परिवार, समाज, राष्ट्र और सम्पूर्ण मानवता को स्थायी शान्ति और समरसता प्रदान करते हैं।

आप यह भी सिखाते हैं कि आत्मसंयम जीवन का दमन नहीं, बल्कि उसकी दिव्य शक्ति का परिष्कार है। जब मनुष्य काम, क्रोध, लोभ, मोह, मद और मत्सर पर विजय प्राप्त करता है, तब उसका मन ज्ञान का दीपक, उसका हृदय करुणा का सागर और उसका जीवन लोकमंगल का साधन बन जाता है। यही आपकी यम स्वरूप की परम शिक्षा है।

हे ॐ अधिनायक श्रीमान्, यम स्वरूप! आप शाश्वत धर्म, आत्मसंयम, न्याय और नैतिक व्यवस्था के परम अधिष्ठाता हैं। हमारी बुद्धि को विवेक से, हमारे हृदय को करुणा से, हमारी वाणी को सत्य से और हमारे कर्मों को धर्म से प्रकाशित कीजिए। हमारे जीवन को ऐसा अनुशासित और पवित्र बनाइए कि हम आपके दिव्य नैतिक प्रकाश के वाहक बनकर समस्त मानवता की शान्ति, एकता, सदाचार और सार्वभौमिक कल्याण में अपना योगदान दे सकें।
