From Telugu cinema and literature to the creative traditions of every Indian language, and from Indian storytelling to international Hollywood films and web series, humanity has continually imagined its future, fears, hopes, gods, aliens, artificial intelligence, technological evolution and moral dilemmas.
Films and fictional worlds such as Avatar, Terminator, Venom, Black Panther, Hellboy and A Quiet Place need not be presented as literal evidence of extraterrestrial or supernatural beings.
Instead, they can be explored as educational and cultural material through which we study human imagination, future possibilities, consciousness, technology, fear, ethics and civilization.
