In 1921, during the Indian National Congress session held in Bezwada (now Vijayawada), Venkaiah presented his design to Mahatma Gandhi, envisioning a unifying emblem for the nation. This design later evolved into the Tiranga, the tricolour that continues to flutter in glory across the length and breadth of the country.

Each colour—saffron for courage and sacrifice, white for truth and peace, and green for faith and chivalry—along with the Ashoka Chakra, symbolizes the essence of India’s civilizational ethos and her undying spirit of progress and righteousness.

Yet, it remains one of history's ironies that this selfless patriot died in obscurity and poverty in 1963, with his immense contribution receiving little recognition during his lifetime. As a nation that now stands tall among the global community, we owe it to him to restore his rightful place in the annals of Indian history.
