The next steps for Chandrayaan-3 are as follows:

The next steps for Chandrayaan-3 are as follows:

1. The lander module will undergo a second deboosting maneuver on August 20 to reduce its orbit to around 100*30 km, the farthest and nearest point from the moon respectively.
2. On August 23, the lander will attempt a soft landing on the south pole of the moon. The landing is scheduled for 5:47pm IST.
3. If the landing is successful, the lander will deploy the rover, Pragyan. The rover will then explore the lunar surface for up to 1 lunar day (14 Earth days).

The deboosting maneuver that was conducted on August 16 was a critical step in the preparations for the landing. The maneuver was successful and the lander module is now in good health. The next deboosting maneuver is scheduled to take place on August 20. This maneuver will further reduce the orbit of the lander module and prepare it for the landing.

The soft landing on the moon is the most challenging part of the mission. The lander module will need to slow down from a speed of about 1.7 km/s to zero in just a few seconds. If the landing is successful, it will be a major achievement for India's space program.

The rover, Pragyan, is equipped with a variety of scientific instruments that will be used to study the lunar surface. The rover will also collect samples of the lunar soil and rocks. The data collected by the rover will help scientists to better understand the formation and evolution of the moon.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission is a challenging but important undertaking. If successful, it will help India to become a major player in the field of space exploration. ISRO is confident that the mission will be successful and that the lander will make a soft landing on the moon.
