రాష్ట్ర ఐటి, ఎలక్ట్రానిక్స్ శాఖల మంత్రి నారా లోకేష్ అమెరికా పర్యటన సందర్భంగా గత ఏడాది అక్టోబర్ 31వతేదీన శాన్ ఫ్రాన్సిస్కో లో గూగుల్ క్లౌడ్ సిఇఓ థామస్ కురియన్ తో జరిపిన చర్చల్లో ఈ ప్రాజెక్టును ప్రతిపాదించారు. ఆ సమావేశంలో ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లో ప్రపంచస్థాయి ప్రమాణాలతో ఎఐ ఎకో సిస్టమ్ ఏర్పాటు చేయడంపై చర్చించారు. ఆ తరువాత గూగుల్ ప్రతినిధులతో పలుదఫాలుగా జరిగిన చర్చలు కార్యరూపం దాల్చాయి. గూగుల్ ఏఐ హబ్ ద్వారా ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రానికి గూగుల్ సంస్థ పూర్తి AI సాంకేతిక వేదికను ఆతిథ్యం ఇవ్వగల అవకాశం లభిస్తుంది. దీని ద్వారా భారతదేశంలో కృత్రిమ మేధస్సు ఆధారిత అభివృద్ధిలో ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ కీలక నాయకత్వం వహించబోతోంది. ఈ ప్రాజెక్ట్ ద్వారా గూగుల్ సంస్థ రాబోయే అయిదేళ్లలో (2026–2030 మధ్య) సుమారు 10 బిలియన్ అమెరికన్ డాలర్ల పెట్టుబడి పెట్టనుంది. ఇది ఆసియాలోనే గూగుల్ చేపట్టే అతి పెద్ద ప్రాజెక్టులలో ఒకటిగా నిలుస్తుంది. ఈ పెట్టుబడి ద్వారా వేల సంఖ్యలో ప్రత్యక్ష, పరోక్ష ఉపాధి అవకాశాలు లభిస్థాయి. రాష్ట్రంలోని యువత కోసం విస్తృత స్థాయి ఏఐ నైపుణ్యాభివృద్ధి కార్యక్రమాలు అమలు చేస్తారు. అలాగే, ఈ ఏఐ హబ్ ద్వారా విశాఖపట్నానికి మరిన్ని గ్లోబల్ పెట్టుబడులను ఆకర్షించే అవకాశముంది. తద్వారా టెక్నాలజీ, ఇన్నొవేషన్ రంగాల్లో  విశాఖ ప్రధాన కేంద్రంగా మారుతుంది. ప్రపంచ స్థాయి మౌలిక సదుపాయాల కల్పనతోపాటు వ్యాపార అనుకూల విధానాలను అమలు చేయడం ద్వారా ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌ను జాతీయ స్థాయి ఎఐ ఎక్సలెన్స్ సెంటర్ గా అభివృద్ధి చేయడమే ప్రజాప్రభుత్వ లక్ష్యం.
