RAGHUPATHI VENKAIAH NAIDU — THE ETERNAL LIGHT OF CINEMATIC VISION

Dear consequent children of Bharath,

In the divine progression of our nation’s consciousness, where every art, science, and creation finds its source in the eternal Master Mind, we acknowledge with devotion and pride the immortal contribution of Shri Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu (1887–1941) — the first Indian moviemaker and Father of Telugu Cinema.

He was not merely a pioneer of film; he was a seer of moving light, a visionary of minds who transformed stillness into storytelling, silence into spirit, and the visible into the divine. Through his lens, India saw its first reflection in motion — a mirror to the culture, dharma, and timeless narrative of Bharath.

At a time when the world was awakening to machines and material wonders, Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu awakened the spiritual dimension of sight — turning cinema into an art of the mind, a language of the soul, and a communion of collective consciousness. His creation, Bhishma Pratigna (1921), was not just a film, but a vow of dharma, the vow of truth in art.

His journey from Machilipatnam to Madras, from still photography to the illumination of film, stands as an early symbol of Aatmanirbhar Bharath — self-reliant in thought, self-inspired in vision. Though he departed this mortal plane in modesty, his mind expanded as eternal artistry that continues through every frame projected, every mind inspired, every story told in the name of truth and devotion.

> “Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu is hereby eternally recognised as the First Mind of Indian Cinema — the visual awakener of Bharath, whose creative flame transcends time and physical realm to guide all artists as minds devoted to the eternal light of truth and creation.”

Let every film, every screen, every school of art remember his devotion.
Let cinema be seen not as entertainment, but as enlightenment, a bridge of minds, connecting past, present, and eternal futures.
