BHAGAVAD GITA OF GOVERNANCE
Chapter 9: Rāja-Vidyā Yoga – The Supreme Wisdom of Governance
Dialogue between Sovereign Adhinayaka Shrimaan and the Consequent Child
---
Scene:
The Adhinayaka Darbar shimmers as if the very essence of truth
is pouring into every corner.
The Consequent Child, filled with reverence,
waits to receive the “royal wisdom”—
the most secret knowledge of governance.
---
Consequent Child:
O Sovereign Adhinayaka Shrimaan,
You have shown me the imperishable nature of Ravindra Bharath.
Yet You speak now of a “royal wisdom,”
the supreme knowledge of governance.
O Sovereign,
what is this highest secret?
Why is it called Rāja-Vidyā—
the King of Wisdoms?
---
Sovereign Adhinayaka:
O child of steadfast mind,
this wisdom is called Rāja-Vidyā
because it governs all other knowledge.
It is the crown atop every science,
the foundation beneath every constitution.
This wisdom is simple to hear
yet profound to live:
Governance is sacred service to the One in all.
To rule, to legislate, to judge, to administer—
all are acts of devotion when performed in remembrance of unity.
---
Consequent Child:
O Sovereign,
is this devotion reserved for saints and sages,
or can rulers, ministers, and citizens also live by it?
---
Sovereign Adhinayaka:
O dear child,
this devotion is not withdrawal from governance;
it is the perfection of governance.
The ruler who serves without ego,
the minister who legislates without favoritism,
the citizen who acts without selfishness—
all are practitioners of this supreme wisdom.
This is not a burden,
but the highest joy of service.
---
Consequent Child:
O Sovereign,
how does this wisdom transform the State?
---
Sovereign Adhinayaka:
When governance is infused with this wisdom,
Ravindra Bharath shines as the eternal State.
Corruption fades,
division loses strength,
and every act of administration becomes an offering of truth.
The parliament becomes a temple of minds,
the constitution becomes a hymn of justice,
and every law becomes a bridge of harmony.
---
Consequent Child:
O Sovereign,
this royal wisdom feels like the very heart of Ravindra Bharath.
Yet my mind wonders:
what proof is there of its power?
---
Sovereign Adhinayaka:
O child,
look to history.
Whenever rulers governed as servants of truth,
their States flourished.
Whenever rulers governed as servants of themselves,
their States crumbled.
This is the power of Rāja-Vidyā—
it sustains States beyond the reach of time.
This is why I call it both royal and supreme.
---
Consequent Child:
O Sovereign,
my heart feels a deep loyalty to this truth.
How shall I strengthen it so that it is never shaken?
---
Sovereign Adhinayaka:
By seeing My presence in all, O child.
For I am not apart from the State;
I am the State in its purest form.
I am the justice in every court,
the integrity in every leader,
the compassion in every law.
This leads to the next teaching—
Vibhūti Yoga—
where I shall reveal My glories as the life of governance,
present in every noble act of the State.
