The Commerce Secretary of India recently participated virtually in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Meeting of Trade and Economy Ministers. During the meeting, the Commerce Secretary highlighted that India’s priorities within the SCO are shaped by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, which focuses on security, economic development, unity, respect, and environmental protection.

The Commerce Secretary also emphasized India’s commitment to using artificial intelligence (AI) for the benefit of society, under the initiative of ‘AI for all,’ which aims to foster inclusive growth and societal development.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participating ministers adopted key documents that promote fair trade practices and sustainable development, reflecting the collective goals of the SCO member states.
