‘నా కెరీర్‌లో ఇలాంటి సినిమా ఒక్కటైనా తీస్తే బాగుణ్ణు’ అని ప్రతీ నిర్మాత కలలు కనేటంత మంచి సినిమాలు అందించిన సంస్థ.. పూర్ణోదయ మూవీ క్రియేషన్స్‌. కథకీ, కళకీ అగ్రతాంబూలం అందిస్తూ.. వ్యాపార విలువల కంటే మానవీయ సంబంధాంలకే పెద్ద పీట వేసిన నిర్మాత.. ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు. ఆయన్నుంచి వచ్చిన సినిమాలు పదే. అయినా ఏ సినిమా తీసుకొన్నా.. తనదైన ప్రత్యేకత ప్రతిబింబించేదే.

తెలుగు సినీ జగత్తులో ఆణిముత్యాలుగా భావించే మేలైన చిత్రాలను అందించిన మేటి నిర్మాత ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు గారి జయంతి అక్టోబర్4న. ఈ సందర్భంగా ఆయన అందించిన అపురూప చిత్రమాలిక విశేషాలు... పాఠకుల కోసం...

సిరిసిరిమువ్వ

నిర్మాణ రంగంలో ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావుకి తొలి అనుభవం.. ‘సిరిసిరిమువ్వ’. తన స్నేహితులతో కలిసి ఈ చిత్రాన్ని తెరకెక్కించారాయన. ఇందులో ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు పెట్టుబడి పెట్టిందేం లేదు. కేవలం నిర్మాణ బాధ్యతల్ని చూసుకొన్నారంతే. చంద్రమోహన్, జయప్రద కలిసి నటించిన ఈ చిత్రం బక్సాఫీసు దగ్గర మ్యూజికల్‌ హిట్‌గా నిలిచింది. ఇందులో పాటలన్నీ హిట్టే. ఈ సినిమాతో మొదలైన కె.విశ్వనాథ్‌ - ఏడిదల అనుబంధం ‘ఆపబ్బాంధవుడు’ వరకూ కొనసాగుతూనే ఉంది. కథానాయిక హైమ పాత్రకు ముందు కూచిపూడి నర్తకి శోభానాయుడిని తీసుకొందామనుకొన్నారు. కానీ ఆ అవకాశం జయప్రదకు దక్కింది. 1976 డిసెంబర్‌ 24న ఈ చిత్రం విడుదలై అఖండ విజయం సాధించింది. ఈ చిత్రాన్ని విశ్వనాథ్‌ హిందీలో ‘సర్‌గమ్‌’ పేరుతో బాలీవుడ్‌లో రీమేక్‌ చేశారు. అదే జయప్రద తొలి హిందీ చిత్రమైంది.

తాయారమ్మ_బంగారయ్య

ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావుని పూర్తిస్థాయి నిర్మాతగా మార్చిన చిత్రమిది. ‘పూర్ణోదయ మూవీ క్రియేషన్స్‌’ అనే పేరు కూడా తెరపై ఈ సినిమాతోనే కనిపించడం మొదలైంది. సత్యనారాయణ బంగారయ్యగా, షావుకారు జానకి తాయారమ్మగా నటించారు. ముసలి దంపతులపై సినిమా ఏంటంటూ దర్శకుడు కొమ్మినేని శేషగిరిరావు రాసిన ఈ కథని తొమ్మిది మంది నిర్మాతలు తిరస్కరించారు. అయితే కథపై నమ్మకంతో ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు ఈ చిత్రాన్ని టేకప్‌ చేశారు. ఈ చిత్రంలో చిరంజీవి తన ప్రస్థానం మొదలు పెట్టిన తొలి రోజులవి. ఆ పాత్ర ఎంత చిన్నదంటే ఒక్క డైలాగ్‌ కూడా ఉండదు. అప్పటి రాష్ట్రపతి నీలం సంజీవరెడ్డి ఈ చిత్రాన్ని ప్రత్యేకంగా వీక్షించి చిత్రబృందాన్ని అభినందించారు కూడా. జనవరి 12, 1979లో విడుదలైన ఈ చిత్రం కూడా మంచి లాభాలనే తెచ్చిపెట్టింది.

శంకరాభరణం

తెలుగు సినీ చరిత్రలో ఆణిముత్యాలుగా భావించే అరుదైన చిత్రాల్లో ‘శంకరాభరణం’ ఒకటి. దర్శకుడిగా విశ్వనాథ్‌ కళాత్మకతకూ, నిర్మాతగా ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు తెగువకూ నిలువుటద్దం.. ఈ చిత్రం. తెలుగు ప్రజలకు శాస్త్రీయ సంగీతంపై మక్కువ పెంచడంలో తనవంతు పాత్ర పోషించిందీ చిత్రం. ప్రతీ పాటా అద్భుతమే. ప్రతీ సన్నివేశమూ అజరామరమే. సోమయాజులు హీరో ఏంటీ? వ్యాంపు పాత్రలు పోషించే మంజుభార్గవి కథానాయిక ఏంటీ? అని అందరూ ఆశ్చర్యపోయారు అప్పట్లో. అయితే ఈ సందేహాలన్నీ పటాపంచలు చేస్తూ అద్భుత విజయాన్ని సాధించిందీ చిత్రం. ఫిబ్రవరి 2, 1980లో ఈ చిత్రం ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకొచ్చింది. విడుదలైన తొలి నాలుగైదు రోజులూ...థియేటర్ల దగ్గర జనమే లేరు. అయితే ఆ తరువాత ప్రభంజనం సృష్టించింది. ఫ్రాన్స్‌లో జరిగిన బోసాన్‌కన్‌ ఫిల్మ్‌ ఫెస్టివల్‌లో ఉత్తమ చిత్రంగా పురస్కారం అందుకొంది ‘శంకరాభరణం’. నాలుగు జాతీయ అవార్డులతో పాటు ఏడు నంది అవార్డుల్ని సొంతం చేసుకొంది. ఈ సినిమాపై ప్రేమతో చెన్నై, హైదరాబాద్‌లలోని తన ఇళ్లకి ‘శంకరాభరణం’ అని పేరు పెట్టుకొన్నారు ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు. విడుదల అనంతరం ప్రముఖ దరద్శకుడు వంశీ (అప్పట్లో సహాయక దర్శకుడిగా పనిచేశారు) ఈ సినిమా నేపథ్యంలో వెండితెర నవల రాశారు. దానికీ విశేష ఆదరణ లభించింది.

సీతాకోకచిలక

ప్రేమకథా చిత్రాల్లో ‘సీతాకోక చిలక’కు ప్రత్యేకమైన స్థానం ఉంది. భారతీరాజా దర్శకత్వ ప్రతిభ, ఇళయరాజా సంగీతం, మురళి (ఆ తరువాత కార్తిక్‌). ముచ్చర్ల అరుణల మధ్య పండిన అద్భుతమైన కెమిస్ట్రీ, అత్యంత సహజమైన సన్నివేశాలు వెరసి ఈ చిత్రాన్ని ఓ మాస్టర్‌ పీస్‌గా నిలబెట్టాయి.

‘పదునారు వయదునిల్లే’ (తెలుగులో పదహారేళ్ల వయసు) చిత్రాన్ని చూసిన ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు.. భారతీరాజా దర్శకత్వ ప్రతిభకు ముగ్థుడై..ఆయన చేతిలో అడ్వాన్సు పెట్టేశారు. అలా..‘సీతాకోక చిలక’ చిత్రానికి అంకురార్పణ జరిగింది. అరుణ పాత్రకు రాధ, విజయశాంతిల పేర్లు పరిశీలనకు వచ్చాయి. చివరి క్షణాల్లో ఆ అవకాశం అరుణకు దక్కింది. ఈ చిత్రానికి ‘సాగరసంగమం’ అనే పేరును పెడదామనుకొన్నారు. అందుకే ‘సాగర సంగమమే’ అనే పాట కూడా రాయించుకొన్నారు. అయితే.. ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు మాత్రం ఈ టైటిల్‌కి అభ్యంతరం తెలిపారు. తమిళంలో ‘అళయగళ్‌ ఒయివదిల్లై’ అనే పేరుతో ఈ చిత్రం విడుదలైంది. 12 లక్షల నిర్మాణ వ్యయంతో రూపుదిద్దుకున్న ఈ చిత్రం జూన్‌ 2, 1982లో విడుదలై అఖండ విజయం సాధించింది. ఉత్తమ ప్రాంతీయ చిత్రంగా రజత కమలం అందుకొంది. నాలుగు నంది అవార్డులు వరించాయి. ‘సితార’ పత్రిక కూడా 5 అవార్డులతో ఈ చిత్రాన్ని సత్కరించింది. వంశీ ఈ చిత్రాన్ని నవల రూపంలోకి తీసుకొచ్చారు.

సితార

వంశీ-ఇళయరాజా కాంబినేషన్‌ అంటే సూపర్‌ డూపర్‌ హిట్టే. ఆ కలయికకు పునాది వేసిన చిత్రం ‘సితార’. పూర్ణోదయ సంస్థలో వంశీ సహాయ దర్శకుడిగా పనిచేశారు. వంశీని తమ సంస్థ నుంచే దర్శకుడిగా పరిచయం చేయాలని ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు ఆలోచన. అయితే అది సాధ్యం కాలేదు. అయితే రెండో చిత్రం ఈ సంస్థలో చేసే అవకాశం దక్కింది వంశీకి. ఆయన రాసిన ‘మహల్లో కోకిల’ నవల గురించి నాగేశ్వరరావుకి ముందే తెలసు. ఆ నవలను సినిమాగా తీసుకురావాలన్న వంశీ ఆలోచనకు ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు నిర్మాతగా భుజం తట్టారు. దక్షిణాదిన రౌండ్‌ ట్రాలీని ఉపయేగించిన తొలి చిత్రం ఇదే. ఏప్రిల్‌ 26, 1984లో ఈ చిత్రం ప్రేక్షకులముందుకొచ్చింది. విడుదలైన తొలి రోజుల్లో ‘మరీ క్లాస్‌ ఉంది సినిమా’ అన్నవాళ్లే ఆ తరువాత ఎగబడి మరీ చూశారు. ఉత్తమ ప్రాంతీయ చిత్రంగా ఈ చిత్రానికి జాతీయ అవార్డు లభించింది. ‘వెన్నెల్లో గోదారి అందం’ పాటకుగానూ జానకికి ఉత్తమ నేపథ్య గాయనిగా జాతీయ పురస్కారం లభించింది. వంశీ కెరీర్‌కి ఊతంలా నిలిచిన చిత్రమిది.

సాగరసంగమం

పూర్ణోదయ సంస్థ వారి మరో అద్భుత సృష్టి...‘సాగర సంగమం’. ‘శంకరాభరణం’ సంగీతం చుట్టూ తిరిగితే, ‘సాగర సంగమం’ నృత్య ప్రధానంగా సాగుతుంది. ‘నా అపురూప చిత్రాల్లో సాగర సంగమం మొదటి స్థానంలో ఉంటుంది’ అని కమల్‌ చాలా సందర్భాల్లో ఈ సినిమాని ప్రస్తావించారు. నిజానికి ఇందులో ఆయన బాలు పాత్ర పోషించడానికి ముందు భయపడ్డారట. దానికి కారణం ముసవి వేషం వేయాల్సి వస్తుంది. అయితే ఈ పాత్రకి కమల్‌హాసన్‌ మాత్రమే న్యాయం చేయగలరని పట్టుబట్టీ మరీ ఒప్పించారు ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు. కథానాయిక పాత్రకు ముందు జయసుధని ఎంచుకొందామనుకొన్నారు. కానీ..జయప్రదకు ఆ అవకాశం దక్కింది. ‘మౌనమేల నోయి’, ‘తకిట తథిమి’ పాటలు ఇప్పటికీ మార్మోగుతూనే ఉంటాయి. ఉత్తమ సంగీత దర్శకుడిగా ఇళయరాజాకు జాతీయ అవార్డు తెచ్చిపెట్టిన చిత్రమిది. గాయకుడిగా బాలు అవార్డు అందుకొన్నారు. తాష్కెంట్‌ ఇంటర్నేషనల్‌ ఫిల్మ్‌ఫెస్టివల్‌కి ఎంపికైన చిత్రమిది.

స్వాతిముత్యం

మానసిక వికలాంగుడి పాత్ర ఎవరు చేయాలన్న ఆ నటుడికి డిక్షనరీలా ఉపయేగపడే చిత్రం ‘స్వాతిముత్యం’. కె.విశ్వనాథ్‌ - కమల్‌హాసన్‌ కలయిక ఎంత ఉన్నంతగా ఉంటుందో మరోసారి నిరూపించిందీ చిత్రం. కమల్, రాధిక జంటగా నటించిన చిత్రం అప్పట్లో అతి పెద్ద మ్యూజికల్‌ హిట్‌. ఇళయరాజా మరోసారి తన స్వర ప్రతాపం చూపించారు. ‘వటపత్రశాయికి వరహాల లాలి..’, ‘సువ్వీ సువ్వీ సువ్వాలమ్మా’, ‘చిన్నారి పొన్నారి కిట్టాయ్యా..’, ‘మనసు పలికే మౌనగీతం’ ఇలా ప్రతీ పాటా..స్వాతిముత్యమే. ఈ చిత్రానికి ‘శివయ్య’ అనే పేరు పెడదామనుకొన్నారు. ఎందుకంటే అది కథానాయకుడి పాత్ర పేరు. అయితే.. ‘స్వాతి ముత్యం’గా మార్చారు. చివర్లో శివయ్య పాత్ర తెలివైన వాడిగా మారిపోయేలా స్క్రిప్టు రాసుకొన్నారు విశ్వనాథ్‌. అయితే.. ఆ పాత్రని అమాయకంగా ముగించడమే మంచిదని ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు అభిప్రాయం. ఆ మాటకు విశ్వనాథ్‌ విలువ ఇచ్చి..నిర్మాత కోరినట్టే సినిమాని ముగించారు. భారతదేశం తరపున ఆస్కార్‌కి నామినేట్‌ అయిన తొలి దక్షిణాది చిత్రం ఇదే కావడం విశేషం. పలు జాతీయ, నంది పురస్కారాలు ఈ స్వాతిముత్యాన్ని వరించాయి.

స్వయంకృషి

డిగ్నిటీ ఆఫ్‌ లేబర్‌ గురించి చెప్పాలంటే ‘స్వయంకృషి’ సినిమాని చూపించాల్సిందే. చెప్పులు కుట్టుకునే సామాన్య పాత్ర.. స్వయంకృషితో ఎదిగిన వైనమే ఈ చిత్రం. అప్పటి వరకూ మాస్‌ పాత్రలు చేస్తూ, కమర్షియల్‌ చిత్రాలకు చిరునామగా నిలిచిన చిరంజీవితో పూర్ణోదయ చేసిన వైవిధ్యభరితమైన ప్రయత్నమిది. ఎన్ని వాణిజ్య చిత్రాలు చేసినా రాని సంతృప్తి ఈ చిత్రంతో లభించిందని చిరంజీవి వీలున్నప్పుడల్లా ‘సృయంకృషి’ని గుర్తుచేసుకొటూనే ఉంటారు. దానికి తగ్గట్టు ఉత్తమ నటుడిగా నంది అవార్డు అందుకొన్నారు చిరు. రమేష్‌ నాయుడు అందించిన పాటలన్నీ సూపర్‌ హిట్టే. 25 కేంద్రాల్లో ఈ చిత్రం వందరోజులు ఆడింది. ‘సృయంకృషి’ని రష్యన్‌ భాషలో అనువందించారు కూడా. మాస్కో చిత్రోత్సవంలో ప్రదర్శనకు నోచుకొని అరుదైన గౌరవం సంపాదించుకొంది.

స్వరకల్పన

ఏడిడ శ్రీరామ్‌ కథానాయకుడిగా పరిచయం చేస్తూ పూర్ణోదయ సంస్థ నిర్మించిన చిత్రమిది. వంశీ దర్శకత్వంల వహించిన ఈ చిత్రంలో సీత కథానాయికగా నటించింది. ఇళయరాజా సోదరుడు గంగై అమరన్‌ సంగీతం అందించారు. ఇందులో ‘కేళివిలోల వేణుగోపాల’ అనే పాటను వంశీ రాశారు. నిజానికి ఈ చిత్రంలో కథానాయకుడిగా రాజశేఖర్‌ని ఎంచుకొన్నారు. చివర్లో ఆ స్థానం ఏడిద శ్రీరామ్‌కి దక్కింది. నవంబర్‌ 3, 1989లో విడుదలైన ఈ చిత్రానికి ప్రేక్షకుల స్పందన అంతంత మాత్రంగానే లభించింది. ‘ఈ పరాజయానికి కారణం నేనే. కథా చర్చల సమయంలో నేను పెద్దగా దృషిపెట్టలేదు’ అంటూ ఈ పరాజయాన్ని తన భుజాలపై వేసుకొన్నారు ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు.

ఆపద్బాంధవుడు

చిరంజీవికి ఉత్తమ నటుడిగా మరోసారి నంది అవార్డు తీసుకొచ్చిన చిత్రమిది. చిరు అభినయం ఇంటిల్లిపాదినీ కట్టిపడేసింది. ముఖ్యంగా మానసిక వికలాంగుడిగా చిరు ప్రదర్శించిన అభినయం తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకులకు ఎప్పటికీ గుర్తుండిపోతుంది. కె.విశ్వనాథ్‌ - ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు కలయికలో రూపొందిన ఆఖరు చిత్రం కూడా ఇదే. ఈ సినిమా తరువాత నిర్మాణానికి దూరమయ్యారు ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావు. అయితే నిర్మాతగా మాత్రం ఆయన్ని అన్ని విధాలా సంతృప్తిపరచిన చిత్రమిది. పూర్ణోదయ సంస్థ ప్రతిష్టని మరింత ఇనుమడింప చేసింది. జంధ్యాల తొలిసారి మేకప్‌ వేసుకొన్న చిత్రమిది. ఈ సినిమాకి సంభాషణలు అందించిన జంధ్యాల..ఇందులోని పరంధామరాజు పాత్రని ప్రేమించడం మొదలెట్టారు. చివరకి ఈ పాత్ర నేనే చేస్తా అని ఏడిద నాగేశ్వరరావుకి ఓ చీటి రాసిచ్చారు. చివరకి కె.విశ్వనాథ్‌ కూడా ఓకే అనడంతో తొలిసారి జంధ్యాల మేకప్‌ వేసుకొన్నారు.
