The Government of India, in its ongoing commitment to fostering national pride, environmental consciousness, and social responsibility, has spearheaded several impactful initiatives. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Headquarters took a significant step forward by organizing outreach programs at Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College (ARSD) and Sri Venkateswara College in New Delhi, aligning with the national campaigns ‘Har Ghar Tiranga,’ ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,’ and ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat.’

### **Har Ghar Tiranga: A Wave of Patriotism**
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which translates to "A Flag in Every Home," was one of the key highlights of the outreach. This initiative is designed to instill a sense of patriotism and national unity among citizens by encouraging them to hoist the Indian national flag at their homes. During the event, students and faculty were engaged in discussions about the history, significance, and values that the Tiranga (the tricolor flag) represents. Workshops were held to educate participants on the proper ways to display and respect the national flag, thereby deepening their connection to the country’s heritage and identity. This campaign not only fosters a sense of pride and belonging but also strengthens the emotional bond between citizens and their nation.

### **Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam: Honoring Mother Earth**
In line with the Government's environmental initiatives, the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (One Tree in the Name of Mother) campaign was another vital component of the outreach programs. This initiative emphasizes the importance of planting trees as a tribute to Mother Earth, recognizing the crucial role that trees play in sustaining life on our planet. At ARSD and Sri Venkateswara Colleges, students and faculty members actively participated in tree plantation drives. They were encouraged to plant saplings within the college campuses and in surrounding areas, symbolizing their commitment to environmental conservation. This initiative also included educational sessions on the benefits of trees, the impact of deforestation, and the urgent need for reforestation to combat climate change. By involving the youth in such activities, the campaign aimed to inspire a sense of responsibility towards preserving nature for future generations.

### **Nasha Mukt Bharat: A Step Towards a Drug-Free India**
The ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ (Drug-Free India) campaign is another cornerstone of the Government's efforts to create a healthier and more productive society. This initiative focuses on raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and promoting a lifestyle free from substance addiction. The outreach programs at the colleges included interactive sessions where students were educated about the physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug abuse. Experts from various fields shared insights on how addiction can be prevented and managed, and the role that young people can play in advocating for a drug-free society. The campaign also featured personal stories of recovery and resilience, aiming to inspire and empower students to lead by example in their communities. The overarching goal of ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ is to eradicate the menace of drug addiction, thereby fostering a healthier, more vibrant nation.

### **Impact and Community Engagement**
These outreach programs at ARSD and Sri Venkateswara Colleges not only brought students and faculty together in the spirit of national service but also highlighted the importance of individual and collective action in addressing some of the most pressing issues facing the country today. The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign reinforced the spirit of patriotism; ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ underscored the significance of environmental stewardship, and ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ aimed at building a healthier, drug-free society. Through these initiatives, DRDO HQ has played a pivotal role in extending the Government of India's vision to the grassroots level, empowering the youth to contribute meaningfully to the nation's development.

These campaigns are more than just symbolic gestures; they represent a concerted effort to inspire change and cultivate a sense of responsibility among the younger generation. By organizing such programs in educational institutions, DRDO HQ ensures that the messages of national pride, environmental conservation, and social responsibility are deeply ingrained in the minds of future leaders. This holistic approach not only addresses current challenges but also paves the way for a more sustainable, unified, and prosperous India.
