"The world is indeed a bridge, pass over it, but build no houses on it."

Ramakrishna Paramahamsa was a renowned Indian mystic and spiritual teacher who lived in the 19th century. Here are some of his sayings:

"The winds of grace are always blowing, but you have to raise the sail."

"The best form of sadhana (spiritual practice) is to serve others."

"As long as I live, so long do I learn."

"As soon as the love of God is in the heart, all other desires vanish."

"The world is indeed a bridge, pass over it, but build no houses on it."

"God can be realized through all paths. All religions are true. The important thing is to reach the roof. You can reach it by stone stairs or by wooden stairs or by bamboo steps or by a rope. You can also climb up by a bamboo pole."

"The greatest thing is to love God, and the next greatest thing is to love one's fellow beings."

"The mind is everything. It is the mind that creates the world."

"All the powers in the universe are already ours. It is we who have put our hands before our eyes and cry that it is dark."

"The goal of human life is to realize and manifest one's divinity."
