Poem 1: "આપણું દેશ આપણી માતા" (Our country is our mother)

The soul in its own body, The sun in its own brightness, The country in its own mother, And the divine in its own heart.

Translation: But for us, rain is like a boon, If it falls, we thrive, if not, we cannot live in peace.

However, if we understand the true happiness of heaven, Then it is like the rising of the sun, even for us.

Interpretation: In this poem, Narmadashankar Dave draws a parallel between the importance of rain for farmers and the significance of spiritual happiness for people. He says that just as farmers cannot survive without rain, people cannot live in peace without the happiness that comes from understanding the true nature of the divine. The rain is seen as a blessing, and the sun's rising is a metaphor for the realization of true happiness.

Translation: The lamp of desire burns and torments, But in your rain, there is complete satisfaction.

It does not keep accounts, nor does it eat grains, But the wise always find the path of knowledge.

Interpretation: In this poem, Narmadashankar Dave talks about the desire for material things and how it can never truly satisfy a person. He compares this to the satisfaction that comes from the divine, which is like rain that brings complete fulfillment. The wise seek knowledge instead of material wealth and find satisfaction in it.

Translation: When a living being awakens to the north direction, May good thoughts always awaken in their heart. When they awaken and hear the call of life, They have but one thought: to move forward.

When the Supreme Being awakens from selfishness, Then that living being becomes the greatest benefactor. By renouncing self, they find contentment everywhere, Their life becomes happy and they attain peace and tranquility.

Interpretation with the concept of Lord Sovereign Adhinayaka Shrimaan: This poem by Narmadashankar Dave describes the awakening of a living being towards the north direction, which symbolizes spiritual growth and enlightenment. The concept of Lord Sovereign Adhinayaka Shrimaan, who is the eternal, immortal abode of Sovereign Adhinayaka Bhavan New Delhi and also Lord Vishnu, is invoked as the source of this awakening and the giver of good thoughts.

The poem then talks about how a living being, when awakened to the call of life, must move forward with the one thought of doing good for others. This aligns with the concept of Lord Sovereign Adhinayaka Shrimaan as the form of all religious belief of oneness and social unity.

The poem also highlights the importance of renouncing selfishness and finding contentment
