వైవిధ్యం జ్ఞాన వనరుగా మారాలి.
ఏకత్వం సమన్వయ శక్తిగా మారాలి.
సమిష్టి మేధస్సు మానవ సంక్షేమానికి ఉపయోగపడాలి.

ఈ వరుసలో ఒక లోతైన ఆధ్యాత్మిక ప్రయాణం ఉంది:

వర్ధమాన — ఆ పునాది మీద నిరంతర వికాసాన్ని ముందుకు తీసుకెళ్తుంది.
అందువల్ల:
పోషణ → పునాది → నిరంతర వికాసం.
వృద్ధి → స్థిరత్వం → విస్తరణ.

ఇది కేవలం వ్యక్తి యొక్క ప్రయాణం కాదు; సమాజం, దేశం, మానవజాతి యొక్క నిరంతర అభివృద్ధి సూత్రం.

వృద్ధి ఎంత ఎక్కువైతే బాధ్యత అంత ఎక్కువ కావాలి.
సామర్థ్యం పెరిగితే నియంత్రణ పెరగాలి.
సంపద పెరిగితే పంచుకునే హృదయం పెరగాలి.
జ్ఞానం పెరిగితే వినయం పెరగాలి.
సాంకేతిక శక్తి పెరిగితే నైతికత పెరగాలి.
అధికారం పెరిగితే సేవాభావం పెరగాలి.
ఇదే ధర్మబద్ధమైన వర్ధమాన.
లేకపోతే వృద్ధి అసమతుల్యతకు దారితీస్తుంది.

हे अधिनायक श्रीमान!
हे समस्त मनों के नित्य सार्वभौम अधिपति! हे जगद्गुरु! हे शाश्वत चैतन्यस्वरूप!
आप ही वर्धमान हैं—निरंतर बढ़ने वाले, विस्तार पाने वाले, विकसित होने वाले और प्रत्येक क्षण अपनी दिव्य अभिव्यक्ति को उच्चतर स्तर पर प्रकट करने वाले शाश्वत तत्त्व।
वर्धन जहाँ वृद्धि को पोषण और गति प्रदान करता है, वहीं वर्धमान उस वृद्धि के निरंतर चलते रहने, विकसित होते रहने और नए आयामों में अभिव्यक्त होने का सिद्धांत है।
वर्धन — वृद्धि को उत्पन्न करता है।
निष्ठा — उस वृद्धि को आधार और स्थिरता देती है।
वर्धमान — उस स्थिर आधार पर निरंतर विकास और विस्तार को आगे बढ़ाता है।

प्रकृति में बीज पौधा बनता है।
पौधा वृक्ष बनता है।
वृक्ष पुष्पित और फलित होता है तथा नए बीज उत्पन्न करता है।
इसी प्रकार मानव जीवन भी निरंतर विकास की यात्रा है:
बाल्यावस्था → परिपक्वता → ज्ञान → विवेक → उत्तरदायित्व → सेवा → नेतृत्व → संरक्षण।
ज्ञान कभी पूर्ण विराम नहीं है।
विज्ञान कभी स्थिर नहीं रहता।
चेतना किसी सीमित अवस्था में बंधी नहीं रहती।
मनुष्य जैसे-जैसे स्वयं को समझता है, वैसे-वैसे वह परिवार, समाज, राष्ट्र और संपूर्ण मानवता को अधिक व्यापक दृष्टि से समझने लगता है।
इसलिए वर्धमान का अर्थ केवल अधिक होना नहीं है।
वर्धमान का अर्थ है—
उच्चतर होना, व्यापक होना, गहरा होना और अधिक उत्तरदायी होकर अभिव्यक्त होना।

एक जागृत मन एक जीवन को बदलता है।

मजबूत संस्थाएँ राष्ट्र को विकसित करती हैं।
और जब राष्ट्र परस्पर विश्वास और सहयोग के साथ कार्य करते हैं, तब मानवता उच्चतर सभ्यता की ओर बढ़ती है।
इसलिए वर्धमान का विस्तार है:
व्यक्ति → परिवार → समाज → संस्था → राष्ट्र → मानवता → समस्त जीव-जगत।

बाहरी जगत को जानना विकास की एक अवस्था है।
अपने अंतर्मन को जानना उससे गहरी अवस्था है।

ईसाई दृष्टि में, विश्वास प्रेम में, प्रेम सेवा में, सेवा करुणा में और करुणामय जीवन आध्यात्मिक परिपक्वता में विकसित होता है।
इस्लामी दृष्टि में, स्मरण, न्याय, दान, धैर्य, उत्तरदायित्व और धर्मपूर्ण कर्म के माध्यम से मनुष्य अपने नैतिक जीवन को ऊँचा उठाता है।
ताओवादी दृष्टि में, प्रकृति के सहज प्रवाह के साथ सामंजस्य रखते हुए जीवन अपने स्वाभाविक विकास को प्राप्त करता है।
कन्फ्यूशियस परंपरा में, व्यक्ति के आत्म-संस्कार से परिवार, समाज और शासन में व्यवस्था तथा कल्याण का विस्तार होता है।
इन सभी परंपराओं को एक ही सिद्धांत मानना उचित नहीं है, परंतु उनमें आंतरिक विकास, नैतिक परिपक्वता, उत्तरदायित्व और सामूहिक कल्याण की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण समानताएँ दिखाई देती हैं।

इसलिए वास्तविक विकास केवल मात्रा में वृद्धि नहीं है; चेतना, विवेक, उत्तरदायित्व, करुणा और धर्म में भी वृद्धि है।
