AI-enabled governance: Sindhudurg integrated AI into eight major government departments through the AI Sindhudurg Model, developed in partnership with MARVEL.

Preventive administration: Rather than responding only after problems occurred, AI was used to anticipate issues such as crime, traffic congestion, malnutrition, and human–elephant conflict through bioacoustic alert systems.

Leadership: Krushikesh Rawale, drawing on his engineering background, emphasized analytical problem-solving in policing by identifying root causes instead of merely addressing outcomes.

National attention: The initiative attracted interest from NITI Aayog, whose officials visited to evaluate whether the model could be replicated in other districts.

Continued innovation: As DCP Zone 1 in Pune, Rawale later applied AI-based crowd management during the Ganesh Festival, helping manage crowds of around 16 lakh visitors.
