The Chandrayaan mission of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) used a combination of gravitational pull and push to launch the spacecraft into space. The spacecraft was first placed into a low Earth orbit, where it was accelerated by the Earth's gravity. Once it reached a certain speed, the spacecraft was then fired into a lunar transfer orbit, which would eventually take it to the moon.
