The Sengol is a sceptre that was given to India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, on August 14, 1947, by the priests of the Thiruvavaduthurai Adheenam in Tamil Nadu. The sceptre is made of silver with a coat of gold, and it is about 1.5 feet long. The word Sengol comes from the Tamil word Semmai, which means "righteousness."

The new Parliament building in New Delhi was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28, 2023. The building is located in the Central Vista area of New Delhi and is designed to accommodate the growing number of members of Parliament. The new building has a total floor area of 64,500 square meters and can accommodate up to 1,200 members of Parliament. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (28 May 1923 – 18 January 1996), often referred to by his initials NTR, was an Indian actor, filmmaker and politician who served as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years over three terms. He starred in over 300 films, predominantly in Telugu cinema, and was referred by the media as Viswa Vikhyatha Nata Sarvabhouma ( transl. Universally-renowned star of acting). Rao received three National Film Awards for co-producing Thodu Dongalu (1954) and Seetharama Kalyanam (1960) under National Art Theater, Madras, and for directing Varakatnam (1970).
